I have been working in the NHS as a psychological therapist since 2009 and am accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP CBT). I have expanded my practice to include Compassion Focus therapy (CFT); mindfulness teaching and EMDR. I currently combine work in the NHS with private practice predominantly providing a service for clients within the community mental health setting in Berkshire. I have worked for the Priory Hospital Group (2015-2019), offering individual and group therapy to a range of clients including elite Olympic & Paralympic athletes.
My expertise in working with psychological, behavioural and physical difficulties ensures that in the therapy environment, I can help you to identify your psychological needs using a range of strategies. I have extensive experience working with clients suffering from trauma, using either trauma informed cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or EMDR. I have a personal interest in working with clients who are struggling with emotional difficulties in particular shame, guilt and self criticism. By adapting a compassion focussed approach as an antidote to suffering and harmfulness, I help clients to bring about meaningful changes to overcome their emotional difficulties.
I am a keen mindfulness and meditation practitioner/teacher, using mindfulness skills in my clinical practice to bring about awareness of moment by moment experiences, both internally and externally.
I am able to provide therapy in English and Farsi and can help clients overcome cultural barriers whilst also addressing their psychological, behavioural and physical needs.
